REM is engaged by Buller Coal Ltd a subsiduary of Bathurst Resources Limited to lodge and obtain the necessary Resource Consents (with both Buller District and West Coast Regional Council's) and Access Arrangement and Concession applications with the Department of Conservation to allow the Escarpment Mine Project to begin. This project involved the project management of numerous technical experts to conduct background information and draft evidence for the resource consent hearing. The hearings were held in June 2011 and consents were granted on 26 August 2011. Three appeals are currently being addressed and REM is assisting with this work. Also, REM is drafting several of the Management Plans required by the consent conditions.
REM is assisting Buller Coal with a number of other consenting matters.
