Oil Spill Contingency Planning involves drafting emergency response plans to avoid or mitigate the impacts of an oil spill in the marine environment. The Plans include response procedures and techniques, sensitive areas, coastal information and command scenarios.

 

REM has prepared marine oil spill contingency plans for Shell Todd Oil Services, the Royal New Zealand Navy, Babcock New Zealand Limited, NZ Aluminium Smelters Ltd, Port of Otago Limited and several Regional Councils. REM also provides ongoing consultancy services to Maritime NZ.
