DIRECTOR / Consultant Planner / Resource Economist
Craig is a Consultant Planner / Resource Economist and the Managing Director of REM. He has 21 years experience in resource management planning, environmental management plans, drafting and auditing resource consent applications, assessments of environmental effects, environmental project management, resource economics and incident management .
The main focus of Craig's work is the provision of resource and environmental management services for private sector clients in the energy industry, including the mining, petroleum, coal seam gas and electricity generation sector. This involves project management of resource consent applications, land owner access arrangements (including significant experience with the Department of Conservation), and obtaining mining permits. Craig's biggest project to date was managing the consenting of the Escarpment Mine Project on the Denniston Plateau.

Stephen Calder

Stephen is a graduate of Otago Univertsity who has five years experience in lodging and processing resource consent applications. Stephen has developed his resource management experience and expertise in the mining and energy sector and has become proficient in representing clients interests in these sectors. Recently, Stephen has developed expertise in the field of offshore oil exploration.
Dan Govier

Environmental Consultant
Dan is an environmental consultant with 10 years experience. He has experience in both processing and submitting applications for resource consents (particularly marine based), environmental monitoring, assessment of environmental effects, marine and freshwater ecological monitoring, water sampling, deploying scientific instruments at sea, and leading and conducting marine surveys at sea. The work Dan is involved with at REM includes resource consent applications, particularly water quality and environmental assessments, focusing on the energy, mining and petroleum industries.
Dan is also the skipper of a 7.5m 'Westcoaster' vessel for REM which is in safe ship management and available for conducting surveys, environmental sampling and assessments or any other requirement of the client. Dan has over 16 years commercial experience at sea.

Jenny is a graduate of Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology in Accounting and is responsible for the companys administrative function.

Duncan McKenzie

DIRECTOR / Consultant Planner
Duncan is a Consultant Planner with more than 28 years experience in statutory and environmental planning. This experience includes plan preparation, resource consent processing, assessment of environmental effects, preparation of resource consent applications and notices of requirement, and demographic analysis.
Duncan is a leading expert on designations and requirements, and has advised a wide range of clients on these.
He is experienced as an expert witness at the Environment Court. Duncan has been engaged as a consultant by private sector individuals and corporations, and public authorities.
